6 Days Kathmandu Valley with Nagakot Dhulikhel

Day 01: Tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath, approx: 05 – 06 hours.

Day 02: Tour of Patan (Lalitpur) & Bhaktapur, approx: 05 – 06 hours.
An interesting morning tour with a drive to Bhaktapur, Valley 3rd largest city, this city was once a capital of Nepal during Malla Kingdom regime from 12th to the 15th century. Bhaktapur famous for woodcarving and pottery artists, here visit the famous square with golden gate, palace of 55 windows, including the unique peacock window places other interest are Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Naytapola Temple, Bhaktapur National Art Gallery, Bhairavnath Temple of Bhaktapur.

After a wonderful time here drive back towards Kathmandu with tour of Patan or Lalitpur, meaning “city of arts” situated south of Kathmandu, visit old Palace courtyard (Durbar) the tall terracotta house, fascinating with intricate window carvings, and the Stone Temple of Krishna with the pillar of Garuda the vehicle of Lord Vishnu and as well of Lord Krishna, after a great interesting day drive back to hotel.

Day 03: Tour of Kirtipur, Khokana, Bungmati, Pharping & Dakshinkali Approx: 04 – 05 hrs tour.
Leave hotel for an interesting drive outside the Kathmandu city on the southern edge of the valley visit of an old Newar culture as it was for hundreds of years a medieval town village with flourishing agriculture and farming, visit of Pharping which is just 6 k.m distance from the city a famous old Buddhist nunnery with monastery and caves, here in 6-7th century Guru Padmasamba from India visited here on his way to Tibet stayed here, in the late 6th Century. From here a short drive to Dakshinkali Temple a vicious looking goddesses, where pilgrims offers small animals like goats and chickens Saturday is full of worshipper situated in Chobar gorge where Bagmati River flows through.

A short drive to Kirtipur meaning a glory city, located on the rim of the valley history dates from 1099 AD. It was part of Lalitpur area during the invasion of Kathmandu Valley by a Prithvi Narayan Shah in the 18th century.

Places to visit in Kirtipur, Bagh Bhairab temple dedicated to God Bhairab in tiger form. This idol regarded as guardian of this city with local name Ajudeu.

Chilancho Stupa: a Buddhist shrine of medieval period, with inscription of Nepal Samvat 635 is found in this Chaitya. It is one of the most important historical stupa of the region.

Uma Maheshwar: Uma Maheshwar temple (Kwacho Dega) an important heritage of Kirtipur. This pagoda-style three-storied temple is situated at the highest point at 1,414 m. with fascinating views of Kathmandu valley and snow capped range towards north.

Shri Kirti Bihar: a Theravada Buddhist monastery built in traditional Thai architectural style situated near the entrance of the city.

After a great time a short drive to Bungmati and Kokana villages situated on the last rim of the valley, observe the village life as it was for hundreds of years back,

An old Newari village with minor population of Tamang, visit of local old houses and ancient temples, place is famous for garments handicraft and mustard oils.

With a wonderful and interesting time return back to hotel afternoon free at leisure.

This temple listed in the World Heritage Site, a fifth century old located over a hillock 15 km. east of Bhaktapur the temple adorned with full of artistic works on metal and wood. Day 04: Tour of Changu-Narayan & Nagarkot hill top 03 /04 hrs.
Morning leads to a scenic and interesting drive towards east North East of Kathmandu on the Nepal / Tibet, China Friendship highway, drive leaves past the outer rim of Bhaktapur with uphill reaching at a small medieval Newari village at Changu-Narayan, visit Nepal oldest temple, listed in World Heritage Site, a 05th century old adorned with full artistic work on metals and wood. Inscription dates back 464 AD the first ever epigraphic evidences of Nepalese history, from here carry on drive high above to Nagarkot, located 30 km east of Kathmandu, a favorite weekend gateway for Himalayan mountain views and serenity. From Nagarkot, witness the striking mountain panorama extending from Dhaulagiri in the west towards east of Mt. Everest. Nagarkot at 2,175 meters high visiting the top hill and climb to a observatory tower with beautiful forest surrounding offering a grandstand panorama of the Himalaya with five world’s highest mountains with Everest (8,848m.), Lhotse (8,516m.), Cho Oyu (8,201m.), Makalu (8,463m.) and other lesser peak. Nagarkot famous for sunrise and sunset views over chain of Himalayan snow peaks right from the hotel rooms.

Day 05: Tour of Dhulikhel with Namobuddha and Panuti village – 04 hrs
From Nagarkot with great sunrise over panorama of mountains, depart Nagarkot for another wonderful visit to Dhulikhel and surrounding area, a scenic drive through farm villages and towns reaching at Dhulikhel for overnight stop in the comfort of nice hill resorts and lodge, on reaching here a short drive to famous historical and religious Buddhist area of Namobuddha in serene surrounding
Namobuddha holy area one of the unsurpassable supreme sacred sites known as the three Stupas in Nepal is Tagmo Lüjin ( place where the future Buddha sacrificed his body to a tigress).

It is the very sacred place where the teachers, the perfect and supreme Buddha-at that time still on the path of learning-offered his own body without regret to a tigress suffering from great hunger. What follows is a history of this supreme and distinguished sacred site, whose location is unmistaken based on the clear identification given in the “Sutra requested by the Tigress” and so forth.

From here visit the old medieval period town village of Panuti a large farming area with an old temple where the life villagers are inter woven in religious daily life, after an interesting day return back to hotel or resort at Dhulikhel for overnight stop.

Day 06: Return back to Kathmandu end of Everest Vacation tour.
