Samteng winter trek in Bhutan

The best time for Samtengang Winter Trek would be March to April and October to November. This trek is possible throughout the whole winter. The trial passing through some villages of Punakha valley.

Itinerary

Day 1. Punakha Winter Trek:
Khuruthang - Limukha
Trek begins at Punakha Dzong with a gradual climb through Chirpine forest. Enroute visit the village of Dompala.Overnight Camping Limukha.
Overnight Tented Campsite

Day 2. Punakha Winter Trek:
Limukha - Chungsakha, distance - 14 kms, time 5-6hours.
The trail leads through rhododendron and oak forested area. Enroute pass the famous Drukpa Kuenley Lhakhang. Overnight Chungsakha.
Overnight Tented Campsite.

Day 3. Punakha Winter Trek:
Chungsakha - Samtengang, distance - 13kms, time 5 hours.
Today trek through the village of Sha Wangdi district.Overnight at lakeside at Samtengang.
Overnight Tented Campsite.

Day 4. Punakha Winter Trek:
Samtengang - Wangdi
Trail descends today to road where you will be collected and transferred by road to your overnight accommodation.
