People majorly know Nepal for the high peaks of the Himalayas and impressive trekking routes, yet the country holds more in store than just high-altitude adventure sports. A few less-known spots lie nestled amidst the Kathmandu Valley; you will love having a quaint vacation from the city buzzers. Here, we show you a smooth hike through several attractive villages of Bungamati and Khokana, the serene Taudaha Lake, an exciting suspension bridge, and a spiritual town in Pharping. A flat hike through history and culture in the Kathmandu Valley is full of uniqueness. Let's go in search of the hidden beauties of Nepal.

The trek starts from Bungmati, a very beautiful Newari village just a few minutes' walking distance from Kathmandu city. This village has a lot of temples and pagodas that are highly apprenticed in traditional architecture. The hike then continues after visiting Khokana Village, another Newari village famous for handmade paper.

From Khokana, the hike moves to Taudaha Lake, a beautiful lake with varied birdlife. You can feed the fish in the lake or enjoy the serenity around. After Taudaha Lake, the hike crosses a suspension bridge that leads to Pharping, a small village with several Hindu and Buddhist temples.

The hike ends in Pharping where you can find the famous Mahadev Temple, a 12th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
