The trek starts from Bungmati, a very beautiful Newari village just a few minutes’ walking distance from Kathmandu city. This village has a lot of temples and pagodas that are highly apprenticed in traditional architecture. The hike then continues after visiting Khokana Village, another Newari village famous for handmade paper.
From Khokana, the hike moves to Taudaha Lake, a beautiful lake with varied birdlife. You can feed the fish in the lake or enjoy the serenity around. After Taudaha Lake, the hike crosses a suspension bridge that leads to Pharping, a small village with several Hindu and Buddhist temples.
The hike ends in Pharping where you can find the famous Mahadev Temple, a 12th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
