Day to Day Journey
You are welcomed by your Bhutanese guide upon arriving at Paro Airport. You travel onward to the beautiful colorful city of Thimphu. The view of picturesque landscapes, red rice fields, and green hills are worthwhile on your 2-hour drive. Visit some of Bhutan’s famous landmarks. The gigantic Great Buddha Dordenma in Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten, Buddhist monastery, and fortress Tashichho Dzong. A spiritual feeling after visiting these places is heavenly.
If time favors, also visit the local paper and handicraft factory. A visit to Bhutan Post Office Headquarters for customized stamps with your photo. If you are lucky to arrive there at the weekend, explore the very popular weekend market. Else, sightsee around the local craft bazaar in the evening and get a deep insight into Bhutanese culture and tradition. Stay overnight in a cozy hotel room and enjoy delicious Bhutanese cuisine.
Wake up in the morning and have breakfast for your next exciting trip. Drive to the historic and beautiful city Paro with your Bhutanese guide. Hike to “Tiger’s Nest” also known as Taktsang Monastery. Every traveler’s wish-listed destination is a true combination of nature and spirituality. Tiger’s Nest is perched on edge of a cliff making it mysterious and wonderful. The surrounding beautiful scenery while hiking is amazing. One can also relax in the cafeteria halfway there. Feel delighted and peaceful after visiting the monastery. “Kyichu Lhakhang Temple” is the next spot. It is the oldest temple in Bhutan and has great Buddhism significance. Have a glimpse of holy sculptures too. Then, sightsee around old Paro valley, Paro Dzong. Stay overnight at a hotel.
