Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (MOCTCA) sent a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). It has directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to adjust the regulations accordingly. The Ministry’s decision was prompted by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC), which held a meeting on May 14.
As a result, foreign visitors need not carry a vaccination QR code. Further, they no longer need to present a PCR negative report when traveling to Nepal. This implementation aims to facilitate and simplify travel for visitors. On May 5, 2023, World Health Organization (WHO) officially removed the global health emergency status of COVID-19. The WHO announcement influenced the decision of the Nepalese government.
