    Day to Day Journey

    After you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu, Our representative from Everest vacations will approach you. After the formal introduction, you will get an authentic Nepali welcome with garlands. Our Kathmandu tour focuses upon the UNESCO world heritage sites in the valley. We will start our tour of Kathmandu from the temple of Pashupatinath within a short drive from the airport.

    Pashupatinath, devoted to the Hindu god of destruction 'Shiva' is one of the supreme Hindu shrines in Nepal. The temple complex consists of over 500 small and big shrines, Shiva Lingam, and Chaityas. The main pagoda is two stroyed with a golden Gajur in it enclosed within four big doors. In the banks of holy river Bagmati, this temple is an ideal place to learn about Hindu culture and tradition in the valley. Numerous legends give us the origin of the Temple and its constituent shrines. The temple gets most devotees in the festival of Shiva Ratri from all around the world.

    You can spend some time in the banks of Bagmati witnessing the Hindu form of cremation. A heartwarming scene, teaching you the meaning of life and what comes after.

    We will head towards Boudhanath next. The biggest stupa in Nepal and the center of Tibetan Buddhism, Boudhanath is a peaceful place to spend the evening. You can join the hundreds of devotees circumambulating the premises. From one of the roof-top restaurants enjoy the view with a warm Tibetan tea. Your guide will transfer you straight to your hotel after the tour completes today.

    We will head towards Patan, also known as Lalitpur or 'The city of arts' after our breakfast today. A short drive will take us to the Patan Durbar Square. The Durbar (Palace) squares are three pristine palace complexes in the valley situated at each major city, i.e., Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan. The old palace here is a perfect showcase of architecture and history of Medival Nepal. The Garuda pillar, Taleju temple, and the Krishna temple are the major attractions not to miss in this palace square. We will visit the Patan museum located within the palace square and explore the lifestyle and art of Malla era from close.

    From Patan, we will take a short ride to the foot of Swoyambhunath temple. This temple complex is one of the oldest heritage sites of the nation. 'The monkey temple' is the secondary name of Swoyambhunath for the abundance of the monkeys inhabiting the hill. Both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit the Swoyambhunath temple. The view of the Kathmandu valley is breathtaking with the background of green hills surrounding it. After the tour, we will return to our hotel and rest for the day.

    We will take a flight or drive to the Pokhara city from Kathmandu today. Both provide us some great views of the hills and landscape of western Nepali hills. Pokhara is one of the most preferred places to visit in Nepal. Calm weather and a fresh breeze will welcome us in Pokhara. Naturally beautiful hills and lakes bless the lively city. Pokhara, the adventure capital of Nepal, offers us some of the thrilling activities to enrich our vacation. After reaching in Pokhara, head towards the hotel and rest.     We will begin the tour early today with a short drive to a hillside at Sarankot. From the foot, it is about 45 minutes of a hike to the sunrise viewpoint of Sarangkot. The sunrise view over an array of snow-capped mountains is pristine form here. With a close view of Annapurna and Machhapucchre (fishtail), world’s 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167 m, 10th highest Mt. Annapurna 8,091 m and 8th highest Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m is also visible from here. Sarangkot is also the take-off place of famous Pokhara paragliding.

    We will return to the city after breakfast at Sarangkot. We will visit the major attractions of Pokhara city. We will visit the International Mountain Museum, Gupteshor-Mahendra-Bat caves, and Seti river gorge here. Our next destination is a magical underground waterfall by the name Davis falls. Locally known as 'Patale Chango,' this fall is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places to be in Pokhara. In the evening we will take a boat ride in the Phewa Lake and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the reflection of the mountains. After the lake and Tal Barahi Temple Tour, you will return to the hotel.

    Note: You have an option to do paragliding over Pokhara valley for which we will drive you to the take-off spot in Sarangkot.

    We will take a scenic drive (5 hours) or fly (30 mins) to Lumbini after our breakfast today. From the green hills of Nepal, we will reach the flatlands of Terai to Lumbini. After arriving here, we will head towards our hotel and head out for a tour of Lumbini. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a sacred area for peace seekers. In the complex, we can visit the archeological ruins of what once was the palace of the Shakya kingdom.

    Mayadevi Temple is the main temple of the area which encloses the actual point of Buddha. Cameras are not allowed inside the Mayadevi temple; however, you can spend some time on the premises and temple here. Similarly, we can visit the Ashoka Pillar which was made by Emperor Ashoka in his visit here, proving that Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. There are above fifty beautiful monasteries in this area made by different nations reflecting their unique architecture. We will return to the hotel and rest for the day after the divine tour.

    We will visit a couple of remaining monasteries in Lumbini before our drive to Chitwan. The trip will take us closer to the plains of Nepal going straight through the sugarcane and paddy fields. In our spare time, we will take a short tour of the local Tharu community and learn more about the Terai lifestyle of Nepal.     After our breakfast, we will head towards the entrance of Chitwan National park and take our entry permits. We will spend our day in Chitwan with some pristine jungle activities topped with a magnificent elephant safari. If we are fortunate, we might encounter the elusive and rare Royal Bengal Tiger and One Horned Rhinoceros here. Other highlights of the are more than 70 different species of birds with some of them migrating from higher places, four beautiful types of deers, reptiles, and much other diverse wildlife and vegetation.

    Chitwan National Park, with an area of 932 sq.kms, is an ideal destination to explore nature from close. Located in the inner subtropical Terai lowlands of Southern-Central Nepal, this park safari is one of the best in Asia.     After our breakfast today, we will start our return trip to Kathmandu. You can choose to fly or drive to the valley with both providing fabulous natural scenery. The hill-highway drive is thrilling with the showcase of the local lifestyle and snacks throughout the way. After reaching Kathmandu, you can involve in some souvenir shopping in the vibrant markets of Thamel. You can buy many organic products and handicrafts to return with. We will transfer you to the airport in case you have an evening departure else you can spend your spare time on your own. Here, you can enjoy the night life too, trying the local cuisine and music in the pubs.

    Good people and great service at a remarkable price

    Well, we a family tour overlapping the Hindu Festival of Dashain last year with Everest Vacation, and it was perfect. Netra helped us to time this tour of Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara. We enjoyed the festival while exploring different heritage sites of Kathmandu. My kids loved the safari at Chitwan. And, the paragliding at Sarangkot, was something I will remember for a long time to come. For a family tour there comes many things under consideration.
